this is

Moonlit Honey Handmade Goods

and this is the

Origin & Evolution

of the company

The original name that Josh and I put on our gifts to friends and family, Moonlit Honey, formed as a marriage of our nicknames for each other. I, his moonlight, and he, my honeybee. Together, the idea for Moonlit Honey was created.

When this business seed started sprouting, I decided to include “handmade goods” into the name, hopefully dispelling potential confusion about whether it was a honey company but unwilling to budge on a name I hold so dear to my heart. After much careful deliberation with the help of my sister Sage and her partner Jeremy, one of Josh’s lifelong friends, Moonlit Honey Handmade Goods was born.

Then came the search for the perfect logo. Naturally, a honeybee and moonlight were essential. Flowers were incorporated next, capturing a little bit more of who I am, connected to my nickname “flower”. A river was also crucial, representing the depths of the Swift River, where so much of both my and Joshua’s hearts lie. Lastly, a mountain range symbolizes the vastness and grandeur of nature often overlooked. It all fell into place, blending each of these elements into a simple to print and clear logo. With the help of friends and the talents of the graphic design superstar, my Aunt Amy, the logo was created, taking one step closer to kicking off this company’s adventure.

Some of these products feature recipes from the original gifts Josh and I crafted together. Other products have transformed based on feedback from our loved ones. Others yet, still weren’t dreamed up until after Josh’s passing. While the company continues to grow and evolve to the best of its’ ability, the inspiration of the birth of this dream will remain with these memories that I hold so dear.
